New Who

A Note regarding New Who

Hey guys, someone asked why New Who was not being updated on the Childrenoftime Livejournal group. And I thought I would post it here for all to see. When nominations first started, despite having a New Who mod pimp out to communites and a post showing up in Who_daily, up until 3 days before nominations closed, we only had 5 nominations. When said mod--I won't mention her name-- posted in her own journal, it was picked up again, but by Torchwood_daily linking to New Who nominations, and her own friends list picking up on it and we went up to 18 nominations. Compared to past rounds, that's nothing. We did all we could to pimp out to New Who.

Torchwood was/keeps being updated--even now--and was more pressing because we were having up to 20 nominations coming in daily. And the final Torchwood total was well over 200 nominations. I don't know if New Who lost interest, or boycotted the site altogether, but we got nothing. With so few nominations, there was not even any reason to update. Regarding New Who, maybe we can try again next round and see how it goes. But for this round, there is nothing I can do.

For the people who were nominated, and there were no reason to contact you because, well, you were only 1 of 17 other nominations, I'll update this post later on tonight when I update Torchwood with a list of who usernames and you can reach me at my LJ Rockangelxoxo or contact me @ childrenoftime@yahoo.com and let me know if you want a participation banner, or a nomination banner specifically for your story nomination. It won't be a winner banner, but you will have a banner nonetheless. Lack of nominations are not the author's fault.

As I said earlier, we will try again next round for Doctor Who. And if the Doctor Who fandom as a whole would not like to participate in the awards anymore, I understand, and we can just make this a Torchwood only fan awards site. If that is the case, please let me know the Doctor Who fandom is no longer interested. I knew Doctor Who had problems with the old maintainer of the site and what went on was your own business. As the new maintainer, I was hoping that we could get past differences and restore the site back to the glory it was in the past. Or at least put it aside and make sure the Doctor who fandom authors/writers got the same recognition that Torchwood gets.
